Deepika Padukone (born January 5, 1986) is a model-turned-actress and is the daughter of former World badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. Before the much talked about controversial item number in Rohan Sippy's 'Dum Maaro Dum' and films like Rohit Dhawan's 'Desi Boyz' as well as Prakash Jha's 'Aarakshan', Deepika made her Bollywood debut with Farah Khan's, 'Om Shanti Om' opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan.

This Britain Indian actress who enjoyed a popularity surge in the wake of the release of 'Rajneeti' in 2010, performed alongside Hrithik Roshan, in Zoya Akhtar's road adventure 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. Her last release of 2011 was Yash Raj Films' 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' opposite Imran Khan and Ali Zafar. The film earned Kaif rave reviews for her portrayal of vivacious punk-rock girl Dimple Dixit.
